Welcome to the Cairns Defence Community Support Group.
We help support the local area’s Defence Community, including current members, ex-serving members, singles, couples and families. We are passionate about increasing the social networks available, being a source of useful information, and helping overcome the isolation caused by distance, by fostering connection amongst members.

Mission
Provide a friendly and sociable environment that enables partners and families to unite and thrive through peer support, events, and activities, where lifelong friendships are made and laughter freely flows.

• Build Communities: We demonstrate a caring attitude in everything we do. We understand the challenges of defence life and the isolation that can occur. We listen, empathise, and connect with our members, and help our members connect with each other.
• Provide Support: We are passionate about inclusiveness and share real life experiences to build understanding and compassionate relationships. We facilitate access to a range of services and resources to ensure our members are cared for. We encourage our members to share and give to one another for peer support.
• Participate Together: We bring members together and build strong connections through a variety of events and activities. We believe in building networks where members can meet like-minded people and enjoy social occasions collectively.
• Be Ethical: We are committed to use every dollar wisely to maximise the impact and value for our members. We act openly, honestly, and responsibly to deliver the best outcomes for our Defence community.
